Sometimes, the pressure to perform — the high stakes, the expectations, the presence of others — slowly pulls you away from who you really are.
You begin to shape-shift.Not out of growth, but out of survival.Not because you’ve found yourself — but because you’re trying not to lose the approval of others.
And it affects you, you might notice these signs, and feel this often:
You no longer enjoy what you used to love.
You feel overwhelmed, unsure how to prioritize, unable to finish tasks.

1. Recognize the Signs

3. Set Boundaries on Overperformance
I say "no" to things that drain me
I limit tasks that are driven by approval, not purpose
4. Create Authentic Space
I engage weekly in something that expresses who I really am
I’ve made room for reflection, rest, or creative expression
5. Seek Support
I’ve talked to someone safe about how I’m feeling
I have at least one person who sees the real me
6. Reframe Success
I celebrate effort, not just outcomes
I remind myself that presence is more valuable than performance
7. Simplify & Realign
I’ve removed commitments that don’t align with who I am
